Roth IRA eligibility

How it works
In 2026 you can put up to $7,500 in IRAs ($8,600 at 50 or older). The Roth amount shrinks across the income range for your filing status and reaches zero at the top of it. Above the range, a backdoor Roth — a non-deductible traditional IRA contribution converted to Roth — gets the same money in, as long as you have no other pre-tax IRA balances (the pro-rata rule).
Money God runs these numbers on your real accounts and filed returns — and does the tax math with an exact engine, federal and state.
